G12H Greenback 1972

As the pursuit for greater power handling really began to take hold, the G12H fully came into its own, with a heavy 50oz magnet along with the signature green can, it became one of the most iconic models of Greenback ever produced; particularly during the late 1960s and 70s where it came as the stock speaker together with famous UK amps such as Orange and Carlsbro.

Just as the G12M featured a medium M magnet speaker and became famous for its woody midrange, the G12H featured a heavy H magnet and became known for a tight, punchy bass, midrange attack and sparkling highs. It’s a favourite amongst players who want a powerful crunch that can cut through a band.

This premium collection of speaker responses has been recorded using some superb examples of the G12H from Celestion’s extensive archive. This specific model (T1217) is dated from 1972 and features the legendary and highly sought after Pulsonic cone.
