Purpose-built to create rich, beautiful vintage tones, the Celestion Ruby brings an instantly familiar alnico vibe with its glorious dampened attack, oozing a rich musical warmth with mellow highs and a smooth, sophisticated midrange. The Celestion Ruby brings its own sweetness, balance and depth that always seems to sound just right!
This Ruby speaker impulse response collection includes five cabinet configurations to provide the user the full spectrum of tone the Ruby has to offer:
- 1×12 (open back)
- 1×12 (closed back)
- 2×12 (open back)
- 2×12 (closed back)
- 4×12 (closed back)
To create this range of speaker impulse response, our expert sound engineers painstakingly recorded each of these cabinet configurations in a world-class room using three of the most popular professional mics available – a Shure SM57, a Sennheiser MD421 and a Royer ribbon mic. Each of these three mics was in turn recorded in six unique positions (including a rear mic for the open back cabinets) and labelled within the IR files as Balanced, Bright, Fat, Thin, Dark and Dark 2.
In addition to the three mics already used to create this gorgeous vintage-sounding Ruby collection, a Neumann TLM107 room mic was used to record extra mic mixes to offer the user a huge range of tonal options.
For full compatibility with the majority of DAWs, IR plugins and amp modelling software, the Celestion Ruby speaker impulse response collection is available to download in .WAV format.
